The Finger

Yesterday when I arrived to pick up Avery from school, her teacher motioned to me and said she "needed to speak" to me....never words you want to hear from your child's teacher!

She went on to tell me that earlier in the day she looked over to see Avery in conversation with another child and holding her middle finger up at the little girl....and not to show her a "boo boo". She quickly walked over to them to remedy the situation and overheard Avery explaining to the little girl that this was very bad and you should not do it!

I, of course, assured the teacher that she had NOT seen that at home but that about a month ago her older sister had heard someone talking about the middle finger and asked me what it meant. I told Britlyn that it was very bad and she was never to do it. Little did I know that Avery was listening and felt the need to share it with her classmates!

Needless to say, I sent an e-mail to a certain classmate's Mom to warn her that her daughter might have learned something new at school....and I was very sorry! EEK!!!
